Paul Osenar, President & CEO
Dr. Osenar has extensive experience in commercializing technology, having worked for upstart power and it’s predecessor company, Protonex since 2000. He was appointed CEO of that company in 2010 and was instrumental in the sale to Ballard Power Systems in 2015. His primary area of expertise is with fuel cells, having been named in over 50 issued and pending patents. Dr. Osenar received a B.S. from Cornell University and a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Illinois.

Scott Pearson, Chairman
Mr. Pearson has over 30 years of experience with a wide range of technology-based companies across a broad range of industries including uninterruptible power systems (UPS), fuel cell power systems, batteries, electric vehicles, electronics assembly equipment and materials, digital imaging and defense systems.  In addition his Board role at Upstart Power, Mr. Pearson currently serves as an active Director at several early- to mid-stage companies.   Previously, Mr. Pearson has held CEO/President roles at Formetrix, Aquion Energy, Protonex Technology Corporation, and Powerware.  He holds an M.B.A. from MIT’s Sloan School of Management, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts.

Steve Karaffa, Board Director
Mr. Karaffa is an accomplished Senior Executive and Board Member with more than 30 years of success in the telecommunications, automotive, electronics and renewable energy industries, with extensive expertise in general management, strategic planning, technology substitution and commercial operations. Mr. Karaffa has held leadership positions at Alpha Technologies, Ballard Power Supply, and Corning Incorporated. Mr. Karaffa holds a B.A. in Government and International Relations as well as an M.B.A. in Finance and International Business from the University of Notre Dame.

Thurman John (TJ) Rodgers, Board Member
Thurman John Rodgers brings 34 years of public company CEO experience.  He is presently Chairman of the Board of Rodger Silicon Valley Acquisition Corporation and a member of the board of directors of Enphase Energy (solar electronics), Enovix Corporation (lithium ion batteries), Solaria Corporation (advanced solar energy products) and FTC Solar (solar tracking).  Previously, Mr. Rodgers founded Cypress Semiconductor Corporation in 1982 and served as the president, CEO and member of the board of directors until April 2016.  He also served previously as a member of the board of directors of SunPower Corporation and Bloom Energy.  He holds bachelor’s degrees in physics and chemistry from Dartmouth College and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University. At Stanford, Mr. Rodgers invented, developed, and patented VMOS technology.

John Santo Salvo, Board Member
Mr. Santo Salvo is Executive Vice President of Channel Operations and Chief Procurement Officer at Sunnova Energy International Inc.  Previously he served as the Head of Logistics of Dresser-Rand, an engineering and manufacturing company owned by German conglomerate Siemens. Mr. Santo Salvo also served in various operations, logistics, and management positions in the United States Navy from 1988 to 2008, from which he retired with the rank of Commander. Mr. Santo Salvo received his MBA from the University of Kansas and a B.S in Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy.

Jeff McNeil, Board Member
Jeff McNeil is the Chief Operating Officer for Enphase Energy, Inc.  Jeff brings over 30 years of engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and executive management experience in the semiconductor, disk drive and solar industries. Prior to joining Enphase, Jeff was responsible for all operations and regulatory functions at Energous. Previously, he spent 21 years at Cypress Semiconductor, where his last position was senior vice president, worldwide operations, responsible for subcon manufacturing, FA, planning and logistics. Jeff also served in various management roles in the company’s supply chain, wafer fabs and engineering organizations. Earlier in his career, Jeff worked as an operations manager at Heraeus, and an engineer at Digital Equipment Corporation, Seagate Magnetics and Memorex. Jeff received his Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from San Jose State University.
