The Upgen NXG Fuel Cell Generator is specifically designed for medium power applications including: medium footprint residential, small industrial, and remote power. The Upgen NXG Fuel Cell Generator provides intermittent power as an effective backup solution as well as complementing solar and storage to create self-sufficient grid-independent power systems.

Future Products
Building on the foundations of its Upgen 5 and 10 products, Upstart Power will be launching additional SOFC products under the Upgen NXG product platform. Technology
Upstart utilizes Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) technology at the core of all of its products. We believe that the unique characteristics of SOFC (high efficiency, low noise, low emissions, available fuels) make it the ideal choice for a wide range of consumer, commercial, and industrial applications.
That said, Upstart Power pursues SOFC technology in a very different way than other companies around the world. We specifically design our unique systems for intermittent operation – meaning that our Upgen systems are able to start quickly and cycle (turn on and off) frequently without sustaining damage. Other SOFC companies deploy systems that are always-on to maintain system stability and avoid degradation due to thermal cycling. Upstart’s ability to effectively cycle our units is a major differentiator and allows us to bring strong and unique value to our targeted applications.
It is important to note that making great fuel cell products isn’t just about fuel cell expertise. Upstart Power and our partners possess world-class technical expertise in electronics, system controls, remote monitoring, interoperability with storage and solar, volume manufacturing, and safety certifications. The combination of these disciplines results in great fuel cell products.
